Design professionals including, but not limited to, engineers, architects and interior designers who are registered in their respective states and who are informed of current ICC 500 Standards, FEMA P361 & FEMA P-320 guidelines and local building codes. Specifically, professionals who are competent to analyze and/or design Residential and pre-manufactured Community/Commercial tornado shelters to assure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
This includes Site Built Design Architect Members are registered professional architects who design site built Residential and Community/Commercial tornado shelters. Site Built Design Architects demonstrated knowledge of and have experience with the application of the ICC/NSSA 500 Standards, FEMA P-361 guidelines and IBC building codes that apply to Residential and Community/Commercial tornado shelter design. They can state on their professional listing if they desire or have experience in specific design applications such as schools or rest area facilities and other structures. They can also list other specific areas of expertise in which they have a design or standards background. Site Built Design Engineer Members are registered professional engineers who design site built Residential and Community/Commercial tornado shelters. Site Built Design Engineers demonstrated knowledge of and have experience with the application of the ICC/NSSA 500 Standards, FEMA P-361 guidelines and IBC building codes that apply to Residential and Community/Commercial tornado shelter design.
